How do i save an attached audio file to my ringtones on the new T-Mobile G1?

Hi my friend just bought the new T-Mobile G1 and i sent him a ringtone through a text message and he recieved it but doesn’t know how to store it on his phone. He says there isn’t an option to store or save the file. Does anyone know how? Thank you.
